Obituary for Joan Willett

Joan Willett, 86, of Haverhill passed away Saturday, July 28 at the High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill after a very brief illness.

She was born in Haverhill on Aug. 13, 1931, daughter of the late Joseph M. and Gladys E. (MacCuish) Willett.

Joan was educated in the Haverhill public schools, graduating from Haverhill High School with the class of 1949. She attended Wheaton College in Norton, MA, and was later a graduate of Boston University, Class of 1954 with a B.S. in liberal arts and secretarial science.

She enjoyed music by, and was a life long benefactor of, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the New York Metropolitan Opera.

Joan worked for many years as the assistant to the administrator of the former Hale Hospital in Haverhill.

She was the dear friend of the late Elizabeth Farnsworth.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, August 1. at 11AM at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St. Haverhill. Interment will follow in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the High Pointe Hospice House, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg 9., Lawrence MA 01843
