Obituary for Pauline (Gagnon) Brunault-Tripodi

Pauline (Pomerleau) Brunault-Tripodi, 93, formerly of Atkinson, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, January 22.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Tripodi, who died July 29, 2001 and her husband Roland Brunault, who died July 1, 1969.

Born Pauline Gisele Pomerleau in Haverhill on April 12, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Desire and Jeannette (Gagnon) Pomerleau, both of Quebec, Canada.

She attended Haverhill High School and later became a primary school teacher at the former St. Joseph’s School in Haverhill.

Prior to her retirement she worked as an Administrative Assistant at Northern Essex Community College.

“Polly” was active in the Arts and Crafts Society in Haverhill and a member of the Atkinson, NH Garden Club. For many years she studied and practiced traditional Japanese drawing and painting techniques and became a very accomplished, committed artist.

She loved to travel and experience different cultures. Her travels took her through many parts of Europe and also Asia.

She is survived by her loving family, including daughters Cheryl Smith of Newburyport, Sandra Wilensky and her husband Saul of Upper Montclair, NJ and son, Mark Brunault and his wife Frances of London, England; her grandchildren, all of whom called her “Mama Paul”, Roland Smith of Boston, Rachel Mullen and her husband Stephen of Upper Montclair, NJ, Margot Wilensky of New York, NY, James Brunault of Philadelphia, PA, Matthew Brunault of London, England; her great-grandchildren, Caroline and Aram Mullen of Upper Montclair, NJ; a brother, Richard Pomerleau and his wife Janet of East Kingston, NH, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Friday, February 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer ST., Haverhill, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:15 at the Funeral Home. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill, will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Kimball Library, 3 Academy Ave., Atkinson, NH 03811.
