Obituary for Irene Louise Chretien

Irene Louise (Yancy) Chretien, 86, of Haverhill, died Thursday, March 29, at Cedar View Rehabilitation, Methuen.

She was born in Andover, July 17, 1931, daughter of the late Frederick and Anna A. (Murphy) Yancy.

Educated in the Andover school system, Mrs. Chretien graduated from the former Punchard High School and attended Cornell University for two years.

For over 35 years she was employed at the former AT&T, No. Andover, from where she retired as a Union Secretary. After her retirement she was a Teacher’s Aide at the Consentino School, Haverhill.

Her survivors include her children; Robin Lambert of Haverhill, Nathan Lambert of Kingston, NH, John Lambert, Jr. of Lowell, and Yancy Lambert of New York City, NY, a brother, John Yancy, Sr. of Haverhill, two grandchildren, Najee and Jamal Lambert, four great grandchildren, Ajani, Jasaya and Najee Lambert, Jr., and Aleecia Pappas, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday morning, April 7, at 11:00 in Calvary Baptist Church, 13 Ashland St., Haverhill. Visitation will precede the Memorial Service from 10:00 to 11:00 at the Church. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Son Funeral Homes, Haverhill & Bradford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Choir, 13 Ashland ST., Haverhill, MA 01830.
